The Tree

The tree stands as tall and erect as a mighty mountain.

I see the leaves that are as small and as finely shaped as a filigree gold ring.
The trunk splits early like a dissident family.
I hear the wind rustling through the leaves like the sound of a bird’s wings flapping.
The bark feels like an old man’s calloused and wrinkled hand.

The tree is an essential part of Nature, acting as a home for many animals and giving us oxygen.

The world would be a grim and lifeless place without trees.
