The Heavyweight Champ

As I step outside, the first thing I see is a big, beautiful tree that is a home to nature and animals of all different shapes and sizes.  In and out, the little creatures crawl through the holes.  As I gradually get closer, I see the leaves slightly moving and I think about a nice warm day with butterflies flying around and birds chirping.

This tree looks as strong as a heavyweight champion but as beautiful as a ballerina.  As I smell, I can smell the flowers and the fresh air.  I can hear raindrops falling onto the leaves which is the most beautiful and wondrous sound you have ever heard.  As autumn grows the leaves start to turn brown and begin to fall.  I crumble a leaf in my hand which feels like and reminds me of a dying flower.  I look at the bark of the tree and it reminds me of aboriginal art because it contains orange, yellow and brown.  The layers of the bark look like multi-coloured scales on a fish.  When I feel the bark it is as rough as a piece of corrugated cardboard.  The bark is like clothing to a tree.  It hugs it tightly even through winter.  If you see this tree,  you too would be amazed at the thickness of the trunk compared to the thickness of the twigs and branches.  The thickness is amazing to me because it is triple the size of my arms if I try to hug it.  If you do hug it, it feels like you are hugging a very fat person.  Steer your eyes up and you will see the thin twigs and branches.  The twigs are very delicate as they are as thin as paper.  These twigs resemble an old woman's fingers as they look bony, thin and long.  On the other hand, the branches are as thick as a pipe.

While we are talking about size, let's talk about the leaf size of the tree.  The size of the leaves is about double the size of my hand which makes each leaf approximately 25 cm.  The shape is also almost the shape of my hand but also looks like a dinosaur's paw with claws on it.  These leaves have a special look to them but I don't know what it is.  Ah!  I know what it is, it is the lovely light green colour in them which gives them a wonderful, lively effect.  The colour of the tree is what makes the tree perfect.  The colour of the leaves resemble little green frogs which are hopping around with lively grasshoppers.

This is just a little description but when you see it you will be amazed.  After all, this is a pretty blessed tree isn't it, and aren't we blessed to have this tree to look at and to keep us company?
